Networking Algorithms for Adaptive Video Delivery

This research is focused on the development of optimization algorithms for adaptive video control plane. These algorithms aims to maximize the end users’ Quality of Experience (QoE) when adaptive video streaming HAS is used to deliver multimedia contents in different scenarios, namely the novel virtualised fixed-mobile convergent access networks.

Video and Networking Strategies for Online Virtual Reality (VR)

This research aims to propose novel video and networking algorithms able to online stream heavy VR contents in curent limited network infrastructures. These algorithms will optimize the VR users’ QoE, whose characterisation, different from the video users’ QoE, is still not well-defined. This VR users’ QoE identification is a first step in these research activities.
